Screenshots are off unless you switch them on. Most teams evaluate the tracker without them and find that active time and the activity percentage answer the question. If you do want to test captures, do it on two or three machines and tell those people first — the privacy page is written to be circulated internally for exactly that.

Trial questions
Is the trial really free?
Yes. 7 days, no credit card, no invoice at the end unless you tell us to continue. If you decide against it we archive the account and that is the end of it.
What is included in the trial?
The full Growth plan: attendance, leave, holidays, employee records, projects, tasks, daily work reports and the desktop time tracker. Screenshots are off by default and you can turn them on if you want to evaluate them.
How many employees can we add?
Up to 25 during the trial, which is enough to test a real team rather than a sample. If you need more than that for a genuine pilot, say so and we will raise it.
How long does setup take?
We provision the account within one working day and configure your shifts, leave types and holiday calendar with you on a call. Most companies are marking attendance the same day the call happens.
What happens to our data if we do not continue?
You can export everything as CSV before the account closes, and the data is deleted on the schedule set out on the data retention page. Nothing is kept to make leaving harder.
Can we trial the self-hosted version?
Yes. We issue a time-limited licence for a test server so your own IT team can run the Docker install. Tell us on the form and we will send the licence and the employeedeskcrm.com/docs/self-hosted/ walkthrough.
Will a salesperson call us every day?
No. One call to set it up, one at the end of the trial. If you want to be left alone in between, say so on the form and we will.
